This video was recorded in phuket, Thailand. It captured the dramatic moment 14 tourists were leapt into the sea to be rescued after their boat's engine cut out on Saturday afternoon. The group - ten adults and four children - had hired the luxury catamaran last Tuesday for a five day trip around the Andaman sea off the coast of Phuket, Thailand.

They were due to return on Saturday but the vessel was battered by deadly three metre high waves before suffering a mechanical failure near to Koh Phi Phi island. The boat also had no radio signal in the area but May Day calls were eventually picked up an hour later by the coast guard who sent rescue boats to the area. Nail-biting footage shows the moment the Spanish tourists had to leap one-by-one into the treacherous sea so they could be pulled to the rescue boat with rubber rings.
